Unit 53 was created in 2019 by a group of friends who met in a high school film class and wanted to continue creating films after graduation. The group focuses on short film competitions such as Run N Gun, Shits N Giggles, Blood N Guts, The Fort Flicks, and Abbotsford Film Festival.

In 2025, I joined the group as a collaborator to partake in the fever dream that is creating films in 48 hours. With the ultimate team assembled, the 6 of us thrive on a lack of food and sleep.
